Consumer Goods

This section lists prices of consumer goods. We consider consumer goods to be any finished product. The main source for consumer goods prices for Egypt, Iraq and Syria is Eliyahu Ashtor’s Histoire des prix et des salaires dans l’Orient medieval, (Paris, S.E.V.P.E.N, 1968), with additional sources and additional regions covered. In general a comprehensive thematic and chronological coverage could only be maintained for Egypt, (see also, while Iraq and Syria have a less comprehensive chronological coverage.
